Aging Services, Section 2. Care Process for the Persons Served

For an organization to achieve quality services, the persons served are active participants in the planning, implementation, and ongoing review and revision of the services offered. The organization’s commitment to quality and the involvement of the persons served spans the entire time that the persons served are involved with services. Persons served are treated with dignity and respect, have access to needed services that achieve optimum outcomes, and are empowered to exercise informed choice.  This curriculum examines how aging services programs ensure a comprehensive program structure with staffing designed to maximize opportunities for persons served to obtain and participate in needed services, and fundamentals of the care process for persons served. Also included are specialty standards for programs that deliver services via information and communication technologies.
